Event catering questions
Can Mr. Birria cater weddings and corporate events?
Yes — we cater weddings, corporate lunches, birthdays, quinceañeras, graduations, and community events across San Diego County, either with our food truck cooking on-site or with drop-off platters. See our event catering page for details.
How many guests can the food truck serve?
We cater events from 50 guests up to several hundred. Food is cooked fresh on-site and served made-to-order, so every guest gets tacos hot off the plancha.
How far in advance should I book the taco truck?
We recommend booking 3–4 weeks ahead for weekend events, and 2+ months ahead for peak dates like graduation season and December. Short notice? Call (619) 328-0058 — we'll tell you honestly if we can cover it.
What food is served at a food truck catering event?
You choose 5 dishes from our full menu — most events build around birria quesatacos, carne asada tacos, adobada tacos, quesadillas, and mulitas, with onions, cilantro, salsas, limes and consommé included. Vegetarian options are available on request.
What catering platters does Mr. Birria offer?
Our catering platters serve about 10 people each: Birria, Adobada, Carne Asada, or Half & Half meat platters ($160–$170) with tortillas, consommé, onions, cilantro, salsas and limes — plus Ceviche and Aguachile trays ($80). No minimum order.
Is there a minimum order for catering platters?
No — catering platters have no minimum. Order one platter for a small get-together or a full spread for a party. Pickup is at our Santee restaurant at 8926 Carlton Hills Blvd.
